Content management means Web 2.0. This isn't just jingo; in the modern web, content is divorced from style. That has a direct effect on how you work. For example:
- You can create your own pages. No more waiting for your web designer to get around to it - urgent content can go up immediately! And it's easy - if you can use Gmail, you can do this.
- Style takes care of itself. The system makes every page look the same. All you have to worry about is your text.
- Auto-transmit everywhere, instantly. The system can automatically send your new content to Facebook, Twitter, and anywhere else you want. Automatically.
- It's easy to edit. Change text with the click of a button. There are hundreds of premade visual themes available for free, or I can make a custom theme to your specifications. Change it as often as you want, so your site always looks fresh.
There are several popular Content Management Systems (CMS), including Wordpress, Drupal, and Joomla. I prefer Drupal because it's powerful, but Wordpress is easier for beginners (if your site is going to be simple). I use a pre-rolled "installation template" so I can have your site up and running in under an hour!
Here's a brief video explaining the concept of Web 2.0, and why it's so important:
